What’s up y’all! It’s your favorite blogger and welcome back to STYLD 101. Missed me? Y’all see the title so today we are going to be talking about how to reinvent your closet for the summer & all while saving that coin OK! As y’all know I love my fashion but I also love a deal even more, you can always serve a look without breaking the bank in order to do so. Having style is not about what you wear, it’s how you wear it. When it comes to shopping in the summer I absolutely HATE IT & I will be the first one to tell you that I am not the biggest fan of summer either. Who the hell wants to dress up when it’s 10000 degrees outside? Which is why I am here today to let y’all in on my summer hacks! You can always revamp your wardrobe while on budget which why we are here today! With that being said let’s get into these wardrobe hacks, okurrrrrrrrrrr!

1. THRIFT STORES

I cannot stress this enough! Every time I mention shopping while saving a coin I will always be the first to tell you about a thrift store. I remember there was a time when people used to knock thrift stores but now they’re a trend all of a sudden. Thrift stores been hip but y’all not ready for that adult conversation. I would say 80% of my closet comes from the thrift store & you probably can’t even tell, it’s all about how you style it. When you go thrifting, of course nothing is going to catch your eye immediately. You literally have to have the time & patience to go through each rack, plus the harsh reality is that you’re not going to find something every time that you go. Either go by yourself or take some friends to tag along with you! Thrift stores have so many hidden gems, especially throwback pieces, but y’all would never cause y’all don’t go!

2. RECONSTRUCT YOUR CLOTHES

@VIBEWITHCROOKS

I am the king of cutting up clothes whenever I’m looking for something new to wear or I’m just tired of an item that I have & I’m just looking for a way to spice it up. My friend is always getting on me for cutting up my clothes but do it look I care? Cause I don’t! When I tend to usually have an idea in my head I typically run to YouTube, they literally have a tutorial for everything on there, & practice on an item that I know for sure I’m not wear anymore & once I get it right then voila. Of course the first try isn’t going to be bomb but practice makes perfect. If you don’t wanna do it alone, make it a project. Call some friends over & make it do what it do, maybe even get a little bit, IYKYK.

3. REVISIT YOUR OLD PIECES.

I firmly believe in buying pieces and them not fitting that moment but you just know later in life you’re going to end up using it somehow. I buy clothes all the time and will not where them just because I either don’t have a look for it yet or it just doesn’t fit the vibe I’m going for right now. There are so many pieces that I have in my closet that I have forgotten about and then boom, one day I have a whole fit planned for it. Especially for my college students, it’s so refreshing when you come back home and find all of the pieces that had got left behind but you now have a new love for them again. That just hit differently.

4. GO OUTSIDE YOUR COMFORT ZONE.

@RICONASTY

I don’t know who needs to hear this...but Fashion Nova ain’t the only clothing store sis! Explore other brands, there are so many dope ass brands out there. No it’s not the easiest things to do but it takes effort. I love when I discover a new brand because not only does it add more variety to my wardrobe but, I can start sharing that brand with other people. Whenever I find a dope brand I love putting people on because it can help that brand grow & who doesn’t like to look good?! Also don’t sleep on websites like Etsy, Storenvy, etc. I’ve come across some bomb shops on there and the customer service that I had received after purchasing on there was A1.

5. DO A CLOSET SWEEP/SELL THEM.

I’m all for keep clothes around but if you KNOW for sure that you aren’t going to use it then let it go sis. Take it to your local thrift store & make some money off of it! If not you can always use apps like Poshmark, Mercari, Wish, & even Facebook Marketplace. You may not want it anymore but somebody else might.

What hacks do you guys have? Let me know in the comments. Shit, put me on too! That about wraps up this post and don’t forget to subscribe so you guys don’t miss a post.
