What's up y'all! It's your favorite blogger & welcome back to STYLD 101 for yet another post. Y'all see the title so you already know the vibes. The iconic brand known as Baby Phat created by the even more iconic Kimora Lee collaborated with Forever21 and the internet GAGGED, including myself. You should already know but if you don't, Baby Phat was one of the biggest fashion trends in the late 90s and early 2000s that helped develop us into the bad bitches that we are today.

The collection dropped just yesterday and for the ad it was a family affair! The ad featured the Combs twins, Jessie & D'Lila, along with her two daughters, Ming & Aoki. As far as the family concept, I loved the ad & I thought it was really cute plus I also felt like it was a little tribute to Kim due to her passing. However, I was not living for it. When you hear the name Baby Phat you think of the "It Girl," rhinestones, & the pink flip phone. Once again, I loved the ad but I was really looking for Kimora to give the girls a little more.

Now onto the collection! As previously stated, the collab with Forever21 dropped yesterday so I was really excited to see the pieces that they had came up with. When I first heard that Kimora was collaborating with Forever I was a bit skeptical because they are known for messing up a cute item! You find something cute then turn it around & it says "FUCK TACOS" on the back like what girl???? After checking the website, I seen that they had only released a few pieces from the collection, the full collection should be available now, and from the pieces they released.....I was not a fan. Like I said before, when you think of Baby Phat you think of the It Girl but instead I got, "that's not it girl....." After seeing the full collection, I had started to become a fan but I wasn't living for it the way I wanted to.

SEE THE FULL COLLECTION BELOW:

Although I wasn't really a fan of the collection as a whole, there were some pieces I did like. I really like the sets as far the monogram & velour ones, along with the cut out Baby Phat tank top. I also really enjoyed the fact that she still tried to keep that 90s/2000s aesthetic and it wasn't all the way modernized. I still would've loved to see some tracksuits and some rhinestones but I guess I'll suffice. Knowing that she was collaborating with Forever21 I didn't expect anything else, overall I give the collection a 7 out of 10.

WHAT I EXPECTED KIMORA TO GIVE:

I would've honestly preferred the collab to have been with either ASOS or H&M. They're typically known for having really good collaborations. After LaQuan Smith collabed with ASOS I had decided to stan forever along with other collabs they’ve done in the past. H&M has also collaborated with major brands such as Balmain, Moschino, and soon to come Giambattista Valli. Now THAT, I better gag over. Even Pretty Little Thing would've been a good collab because I had really like the collection they did with Karl Kani.

How did you guys feel about the collection? What would you rate it? Let me know in the comments! This about wraps up this post, also let me know what you guys want to see! I'm forever loyal to y'all. This is your favorite blogger signing out and I will see you guys in my next post, peace.
