what’s good y’all! welcome back to STYLD101 & as you guys can see I am back with another blog post. no need to waste anymore time with the chit chat, let’s get into the topic! as many of you fellow fashion lovers may already know, Yeezus himself recently just dropped the Yeezy Season 8 collection which was followed by Yé's Sunday Service during Paris Fashion Week. like always, it causes quite the controversy and a plethora of mixed reviews. despite of everybody's thoughts & opinions, I have personally loved every single collection that Kanye has released. minimalism is becoming very prominent in fashion, and also one of the most popular trends right now, and I feel like that he capitalizes on that trend perfectly and takes it to the next level. however, this collection just seems to hit a little different for me. the collection consisted of 19 looks in total, if you’ve seen the past Yeezy collections then you already know when it comes to color Yé tends to base his color palette around solid/neutral tones and once again the clothing very minimal.

SWIPE LEFT TO SEE COLLECTION:

as I previously stated, I've always personally enjoyed all of the past Yeezy collections, but with this collection I'm quite disappointed. although there are quite a few pieces that I would love to have in my closet, the collection just lacks a lot of cohesiveness for me. I couldn't necessarily grasp the direction he was going for this collection, I feel that he kind of took his on spin on athleisure and ran with it. I see a lot of statement pieces but I don't see a lot of statements. simplicity in fashion goes a long way and especially in the realm of street style, but there's a way to do simplicity without looking simple. what makes this collection differ from others to me is that even though the same concept remained throughout every collection, each collection had brought something different or had a wow factor to it and with this collection I didn't experience that feeling.

Yé himself recently just sat down with HIGHSNOBIETY and had a conversation on why he decided to no longer make merch. one of Ye's responses was, "we fought not to do t-shirts, and then I looked up and I was only doing t-shirts." different topic, but I feel that the same principle applies. let's be honest, people are going to continue to be YEEZY just for the simple fact it's Yé, but for true fashion lovers like myself you don't want to continuously see the same thing because not only is it repetitive but eventually it's going to get played out. what do you guys think? do you love/hate the collection? what do you expect from the next Yeezy collection? let me know in the comments! that about wraps up this blog post, thank you guys for hanging in there with me. more content on the way so make sure that you guys stay tuned and in order to do like, comment, and subscribe + follow me on all social platforms @DEWAYNEMOJI so you don't miss a post! much love to y'all and I will see everybody in my next blog post.
